My name is A.J. Goldsby. (Don't ask me what "A.J." stands for ... I wouldn't tell you anyway.) I am 46 years old, I am married and I have four children. (Three wonderful girls, plus a handsome step-son.) Naturally, I like chess, I have played it all my life. [more] [more] [more]
When I was 3-4, I was completely absorbed by dinosaurs ... I still enjoy reading about them today. My room-mate purchased (in 2004) the DVD series of "Walking with Dinosaurs," I have probably watched it about 10 times. Once I was given a couple of weeks off when I was in the Air Force. {Late 1970's.} Everyone predicted that I would head to BIKINI LAKE. (Not the real name of the lake. We called it this - because it was full of beautiful, scantily clad girls ... at least during the summertime!) Instead, I surprised all the pundits by going to a REAL "dinosaur dig" in the Arizona Desert. And I thoroughly enjoyed it. (I have also been to sites in Utah, Nevada, and many others to work as a volunteer in this area.)
I once dreamed of being an engineer. I used to draw pictures of tall building and bridges all the time.
I was totally fascinated by ASTRONOMY for a VERY long time. A friend had a telescope ... and we used to look through it (at night!) all the time. I also used to have around 30 books on the subject as well.
I
was fascinated by writing. And science-fiction. (genre)
At one time, I could say I
had read just about every major piece in existence. (on
sci-fi)
I love photography. I purchased some very expensive equipment while I was in the military, (U.S. Air Force) and stationed at Kirtland A.F.B; in Albuquerque, N.M. (I left it in a friend's van, and it was stolen.)
I like guns and firearms. At one time I owned several shot-guns, rifles, and close to 30 hand-guns.
I love movies. Good ones. Old, new, and everything in between. ("Matrix" is a recent hit with me.)
Of course ... I love chess. Passionately. I have played it since I was four.
Within the last few years, I have really gotten into the web building experience ... I have many different web sites.
Although I have not practiced it much lately, I still consider myself a student of martial arts. (Studied it in the military.)
I
believe deeply in God. I truly think that this does not lessen me as a
person, but actually makes me more intense!
(It also gives me a strong moral base - something that many contemporary
people seem to lack.)
